Welcome to objective thinking

This is a forum for the exchange of objective views. The rules are as follows:

All posts must express two opposing points of view. Comments on topics of discussion must include one pro and one con statement of fact. You must exercise your ability to hold two or more opposing ideas in mind at the same time.

Innovative ideas about a topic are strongly encouraged. While you are encouraged to share well thought out, feasible and economically sound ideas (do the math), free thinking is also welcome. Sometimes, ideas that seem absurd spawn breakthrough ideas in others.

Do not identify your race, creed, color, gender, orientation or political party. Demographics are irrelevant to sound thinking. If you are truly exercising the spirit of this exchange, no one should be able to identify your true point of view.

Non factual criticism is strictly prohibited.

What’s green about the deal?

So far I am seeing a new set of marketing trends to get people to purchase products that make themselves feel like they are doing something good for the earth’s health. On the surface these products appear to good, but doing the math I question how effective they are, and I often wonder if the people drawn in by the hype really know that the net result really is.

I am an engineer who needs facts to really uncover the value of the current trends. I invite people who have valid information backed by evidence to help me present sound solutions to political leaders. This is about education (not brain washing) with the goal of helping us all make sound decisions about our futures.
